This job provides care to inmates at the assigned correctional center within the framework of the Licensed Practical Nurse Act. Demonstrates professional responsibilities performed with a deputy present and is responsible for own practice. Education Required - High school diploma or equivalent. Work Experience Required - 1 year of relevant experience. Certifications Required - Current licensed practical nurse (LPN) license in state of practice. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association. Knowledge Skills And Abilities (KSAs)

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. Job Duties
• Administers medication to inmates.
• Obtains medical history for new inmates.
• Assesses new symptoms in triage.
• Treats symptoms based on physician protocol.
• Provides simple wound care as needed.
• Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
