About Our General Construction Senior Estimator Role :
As a Senior Estimator, you will lead the estimation process for major steel construction projects, focusing on project feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and overall success. You will prepare detailed cost estimates, mentor junior staff, and ensure alignment with project goals and client expectations, playing a key role in strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities :
- Manage bid processes, secure competitive subcontractor bids, and optimize vendor selection to enhance project profitability.
- Engage in the design phase and analyze plans, including material requirements, labor resources, and project specifications.
- Produce accurate estimates and proposals considering scheduling, risks, value engineering, and construction methods.
- Lead document control to ensure coordination and efficiency in the estimation process.
- Improve estimation accuracy through efficient quantity take-offs and alignment with trade proposals.
- Manage RFIs to resolve discrepancies, ensuring clarity for clients and minimizing impacts.
- Use cost data from past projects to improve future estimates.
- Analyze completed projects to compare estimated vs. actual costs and suggest improvements.
- Build strong relationships with clients and professionals across disciplines.
- Research current market trends, material prices, labor rates, and other cost factors.
Qualifications :
Five to eight years of relevant experience, preferably in pre-engineered metal buildings, large commercial, or industrial projects.Experience estimating steel structures from 20,000 to over 1 million sq ft.Labor cost estimation expertise is a plus.Deep understanding of construction processes and market dynamics.Exceptional organizational skills, capable of managing at least one project every two weeks.Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, MS Office Suite, MS Project, AutoCAD, and estimation software.Benefits :
