Please note, the following hours for this position include :
- During the school calendar year, the hours are 1 : 30-9 : 00 pm
- During school breaks, the shifts will vary 9 : 00 am-4 : 30 pm and / or 10 : 30 am-6 : 00 pm
- During school half days the hour are 11 am -7 pm
- During summer months, the shifts will vary 8 : 30 am-4 : 00 pm and / or 10 : 00 am-5 : 30 pm
The Social Learning Specialist (SLS) is part of a R-Center, support services team. The SLS works to create a youth / family / faculty-friendly presence within the R-Centers that is founded on cooperative relationships and direct communication. They are able to provide the full continuum of care; specific areas of focus are prevention education, social / emotional support services and immediate crisis response. They will also deliver a variety of best-practice and research-based services (i.e., groups, workshops, curricula), as needed, with a focus on the Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS). They also provide access to additional resources from The Center for Youth. This is a full-time, 12-month position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND EXAMPLES OF DUTIES :
Administers, coordinates and oversees programs in alignment with R Center programmingWorks in tandem with R-Center Administrators to assure services are based on identified needs and meets with the R-center staff on a regular basisAttend R-Center Support Service meetingsDeliver a restorative-based systemCreate and oversee data collection and program evaluation processesProvide monthly reports to the Assistant Director of Prevention EducationCoordinate requests for Prevention Education servicesMaintain accurate and timely records in accordance with funder and agency requirementsOutreach and information disseminationReferral and referral readiness;Immediate response and support;Prevention education with fidelity including asset-building groups, research-based curricula, planned duplication and booster sessionsAsset development (risk reduction and protective factor) activitiesAlternative services including pre / post assessment and transitional servicesAgency ambassador and liaison.Knowledge of R-Center policies and proceduresResearch and design of services including outcome and impact trackingRecord keeping, evaluation and QADevelopment and maintenance of resource files, lesson plans and training aidsParticipation in individual supervision and all mandated meetings and trainingsPerforms other duties as assigned by the SupervisorEMPLOYMENT GUIDELINES :

QUALIFICATIONS : A Bachelors Degree in a Human Service or related field and 1-3 years of related experience or equivalent combination.
