Summary : The Planner / Health Educator will work to build opportunities for collaboration and alignment of work in our county among organizations / citizens around behavioral / mental health services. This position would work collaboratively with community entities to implement health programs which seek to improve mental health throughout the region. Additionally, this position will work to amplify resources available through healthcare providers in the Tri-County region aimed to increase the number of prevention programs, screenings, and interventions conducted in the community. Fact finding and working to identify gaps and community needs then working to find solutions will assist with building a healthier Tazewell County. This position also p lans, organizes, presents and implements preventive health education programs to provide the community with knowledge and skills to improve and / or sustain health and quality of life.

Education and / or Experience :
Bachelor's degree in psychology, sociology, community health education or related field required
1 years experience required.

Knowledge :
Language Skills :
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, media, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills :
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability :
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Apply principles of good ethical / legal practice as they relate to study design and data collection.
Computer Skills :
Basic PC hardware and software, Windows OS, LAN and IP Functions, email systems and operations.
