Technical Analyst / Data Analyst – Pension System Migration
Location : New York, NY
Duration : 2-3 Years
Role Summary :
The Data Analyst is responsible for conducting comprehensive analysis of legacy pension administration system data and external data sources. The role involves identifying data quality issues, documenting business rules, and supporting data mapping for migration into the new PAS system.
Key Responsibilities :
Perform in-depth analysis of legacy databases, including stored procedures, functions, and data relationships.
Identify and document business rules embedded in legacy systems.
Analyze data for completeness, accuracy, gaps, and inconsistencies.
Identify key data components and attributes relevant to the new PAS.
Develop a Final Data Analysis Plan with details of :
Analytical frameworks and models,
Data validation techniques,
Tools and technologies used,
Assumptions and limitations,
Approach for ensuring data quality.
Collaborate with the System Integrator to map legacy data to new PAS structures.
Document and communicate findings and gaps in existing data to stakeholders.
Participate in weekly project meetings and provide status updates.
Support Fund staff in understanding legacy data and external data structures.
Required Skills & Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Information Systems, or related field.
5+ years of experience in data analysis, preferably in public sector or pension systems.
Strong SQL and data profiling experience.
Knowledge of legacy systems, data warehousing, and data migration processes.
Experience documenting business rules and data mappings.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
