Overview
Under the supervision of the Room Chef, assists with kitchen operations in the restaurant outlets (Asian, Mexican, American). Supervises cooks and oversees production in restaurant outlet kitchens. Maintains high quality of food preparations and production while assisting with all aspects of back of house kitchen business. Exhibits leadership and vision to align, inspire, develop, and motivate team members. Cooks all food orders in a quick, timely and accurate manner. Ensures superior guest service. Prioritizes food orders and plating while creating a safe, secure, and clean environment.
Responsibilities
- Leads the restaurant outlet kitchen team, per the direction of the Room Chef.
- Prepares and produces menu items accurately to standards in a quick and efficient manner.
- Prepares, cooks and seasons all food; produces menu items to standards in a quick and efficient manner.
- Prepares items such as salads, appetizers, beef, poultry, seafood, etc.
- Effectively and efficiently prepares food in fry cook, broiler and garde manger.
- Controls food production in all work areas including proper cooking methods, times and temperatures.
- Contributes ideas with new recipes and to the menu format.
- Adheres to and enforces kitchen maintenance and sanitation programs.
- Ensures safe and appropriate procedures are followed when receiving, storing, preparing, holding, cooking, and serving food.
- Acts as a role model and represents Harrah's positively; encourages others to do the same.
- Reports any problems to the Room Chef and handles employee issues as needed.
- Maintains assigned station and equipment in a clean and sanitary condition.
- Participates in mandatory meetings and pre-shift BUZZ sessions.
- Works well with co-workers and demonstrates teamwork.
- Reads, writes, speaks and understands English; responds to visual and aural cues.
- Presents a well-groomed, professional appearance.
- Meets attendance guidelines and complies with applicable policies and procedures.
- Willing to work varied schedules including holidays, nights and weekends; able to work overtime as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required minimum 5 years of experience as a cook.Required minimum 1 year of experience as a kitchen manager or supervisor in a casino or restaurant serving at least 5,000 covers per week.Required local health department sanitation certificate / food handler's card.Required excellent interpersonal, customer service, communication, team building, and problem-solving skills.Must be at least 21 years of age.Must be able to provide own tools.Must have proven track record in quality, productivity, and presentation.Preferred fine dining restaurant experience.Preferred working knowledge of point of sale system.Essential Job Functions

Must be able to work inside a kitchen for most of the shift.Must be able to operate in a close or small kitchen environment; lift up to 50 pounds; push carts up to 100 pounds.Must have coordination to use kitchen utensils and equipment; be able to bend, stoop, reach, crouch, kneel, push, and pull.Must be able to work in areas with heat, smoke, dust, loud noises, and bright lights.How to Apply
