Position Summary :
The EMTP is an allied health professional who provides a wide range of patient care and transportation outside the hospital setting. Under emergency and nonemergency conditions. The Paramedic will encounter all types of patients with complaints of chest pain to multiple patient accidents. The individual must be able to deal with all types of human responses from the patient, bystanders, and themselves. The Paramedic is responsible for functioning in the prehospital setting as well as various capacities throughout the hospital. Patient care encompasses patients of all ages regardless of race, religion, or cultural background.
Education, License & Cert :
Paramedic Certification with PA DOH
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Will consider military experience in lieu of high school diploma or equivalent.
Experience :
Maintains current certification as an EMTP by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Recommended to maintain current certification in ACLS, and PALS. Must have CPR and EVOC certification with EMSVO endorsement on Paramedic certification. Must have current valid drivers license. Ability to read, write, understand oral communication and have verbal ability in giving presentations and teaching. Keeps neat and legible written records. Follows universal precautions. Utilizes proper body mechanics. Is able to make timely decisions. Is able to handle traumatic situations, such as the death of a patient, including children, and unpleasant sights.
