Maintenance Technician
Job Description
Provides skilled planned and corrective cross-functional maintenance and repair services including carpentry, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing for designated facilities on the Columbia campus of the University of South Carolina.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
Requires job related accreditation from a technical school or an applicable skilled trades program and 2 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and / or experience.
Preferred Qualifications
High school graduate and 4 years' experience in a commercial or residential trades occupation including but not limited to carpentry, electrical, HVAC, and / or plumbing with knowledge of national and local code requirements for trades area. Trade license and / or certification preferred.
Additional Comments
Driver's license required. Ability to work within established resources. Ability to communicate in writing and orally to management. Ability to maintain accurate records relating to time, materials and services provided. Ability to operate computer systems is essential. Have strong organizational skills and the ability to plan and prioritize work are essential.
