Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a float ICU position, requiring a VA or compact license and Epic charting experience.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Position based in the SRO Float Pool, floating among various ICU and intermediate care units including Medical ICU, Thoracic Cardiovascular ICU, Coronary Care, Surgical Trauma ICU (Level 1), Neuro ICU, Special Pathogens, and related intermediate units
  • Care provided for critical adult patients and complex cases, including trauma, cardiac, neuro, surgical, and special pathogens
  • Night shift (3x12 hours, 19 : 00–07 : 00), with options for 36 or 48 hours per week
  • Every other weekend required and must work 2 of 3 winter holidays
  • Onsite Epic EMR system in use—experience required
  • Float within the scope of practice as per hospital policy
  • Role involves providing critical care across multiple specialized ICU and intermediate units as needed
  • Must adhere to float policies and demonstrate flexibility in unit assignments
  • Expected to complete online orientation modules during onboarding
  • Must work 2 out of 3 winter holidays as part of holiday coverage
  • Return travelers to this health system must have a 12-month gap between assignments and may not exceed 365 total days of assignment work
  • No local candidate radius restriction; all candidates considered regardless of distance
  • Background checks are conducted as part of the hiring process
  • Up to 40 hours of requested time off allowed per 13-week contract

  • Active VA or compact RN license, or eligible with license pending prior to start date
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Experience in Level 1 Trauma and complex ICU settings strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Epic EMR system
  • Two professional references required at time of consideration
  • BSN degree preferred
