Work Arrangement : Hybrid (In-office Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday; remote Wednesday and Friday)

Position Summary :
We are seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Electrical Engineer I to support the engineering and integration of hardware for programmable and configurable devices. This role will contribute to the detailed design of projects within the Gas MR&C Division , ensuring hardware integration aligns with CAD design drawings developed by other teams.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, a proactive attitude, and a passion for working in field environments with intelligent electrical devices (IEDs). This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge energy systems in a collaborative and diverse team environment.
Key Responsibilities : Engineer and integrate hardware solutions for programmable / configurable devices.
Support the design and deployment of field-based control systems including : Programmable Automation Controllers
Remote Terminal Units (RTUs)
Communication and Network Devices
Meters, Transformer Monitors / Controllers
Transducers, Regulator, and Recloser Controls
Assist in system configuration, device programming, and network design.
Collaborate with design teams to ensure alignment between CAD drawings and system implementation.
Work in a field environment to support deployment, testing, and troubleshooting of integrated systems.
Maintain documentation and reporting as required.
Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Required Qualifications : Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
OR
Associate Degree in an Electrical Engineering discipline with relevant experience.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Access, Excel, Word).
Self-motivated, with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
Ability to work effectively in a diverse, cross-functional team environment.
Preferred Qualifications : Experience with programmable / configurable devices such as RTUs, regulator and recloser controls.
Familiarity with IEC-61131 programming suite.
Understanding of DNP 3.0 protocol (serial and IP-based).
Programming experience in VB.NET or other high-level programming languages.
Project Engineering experience is a plus.
