Account Manager

We are seeking an Account Manager to work onsite with our client in Des Moines, IA, focusing on process improvement and tailored benefit strategies. This role involves direct interaction with the client, broker, and carriers to manage daily tasks, ensuring timely achievement of expectations and operational goals.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide account management support and coordinate client work.
  • Collaborate to set and evaluate benefit strategies for clients.
  • Maintain positive relationships and clear communication with clients, co-workers, and insurance carriers.
  • Establish and manage project timelines and resources.
  • Prepare presentation materials using Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Support the implementation of new carriers, benefit plans, or special projects.
  • Communicate daily with insurance companies, vendors, and internal teams; follow up on client requests.
  • Independently interact with client contacts and present at meetings.
  • Schedule and facilitate meetings, updating agendas and project plans.
  • Research and resolve escalated client issues or questions.

Qualifications

  • Education : High School Diploma required; College degree preferred.
  • Experience : Minimum 3+ years experience in employee benefits, human resources, insurance, or related field.
  • Skills & Licensing : Active state-specific Life / Health Insurance agent license or ability to obtain within three months of hire.
  • Technical Competencies : Preferred technical designations : CEBS, CLU, etc.
