Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Electrician to join our team! You will be responsible for installing and repairing wiring, electrical fixtures, and control equipment, as well as training apprentices on the job. Responsibilities :

• Follow all safety rules and regulations
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Use blueprints, sketches, or building plans to determine electrical requirements and materials needed
• Install new electrical systems and repair existing systems
• The Electrician, Licensed performs building maintenance and repair work, and responds to the corrective needs of electrical equipment, and system components
• Tests emergency generators, and conditioning and heating systems
• Maintains and repairs circulator and sump pumps, refrigeration units, fans, and other electrical equipment
• Evaluates equipment performance using instruments, such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, pyrometers, and pressure gauges
• Works from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring and equipment
• Responsible for inspection, testing and maintenance of electrical, electronic and HVAC systems on rolling stock equipment and components in accordance with FRA and Amtrak standards and guidelines
• Performs inspection, testing and maintenance in accordance with 49CFR regulations and Amtrak standards and guidelines
• Utilizes a variety of test equipment, PC, and graphic information to diagnose malfunctions, troubleshoot and qualify components and circuits to determine corrective actions and causes of equipment failures
• Installs components such as motors, generators, switches, relays, batteries, and transformers
• Performs approved electrical modifications and repairs or replaces components, as necessary
• Works on electrical systems and components with AC and DC voltage
