NEW Health is a federally qualified health center that has been providing comprehensive primary care, behavioral health, dental, vision, pharmacy, and enabling services to the residents of Boston’s North End and Waterfront neighborhoods since 1971. In 2015, NEW Health expanded services into Charlestown with the opening of a Public Housing Primary Care site, offering high quality, accessible care to the residents of the largest public housing development in New England.
Nurse Practitioners at NEW Health are key members of our primary care team. These positions are fully onsite at our North End location. Each NP manages their own patient panel, typically 300-900 patients, and provides comprehensive care that includes chronic disease management, preventive services, and same day access for urgent needs. They work closely with physicians, behavioral health providers, community health workers, nurses, and support staff to deliver coordinated, team-based care that is accessible and patient-centered.
Located on historic Hanover Street in Boston’s North End, this site serves a patient population that is primarily English-speaking, between the ages of 25 and 55, and generally has a moderate to high level of health literacy. Our North End site offers accessible, high-quality care in a close-knit community setting, with a strong focus on continuity, preventive health, and chronic disease management.

The NP is responsible for the assessment and management of various populations of patients, medical and / or surgical, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, development of appropriate plans of care and ongoing evaluation. May also perform additional duties, such as precepting a small group of learners.
