The Remote Library Assistant helps library users and staff from a distance by making it easier for them to get to digital resources, helping them with research and tech questions, and doing administrative tasks online. The ideal candidate excels in communication, adeptly utilises technology, and is committed to delivering exceptional service from their home office.
Duties :
Help library users with their questions and problems through email, chat, and video conferencing.
Allow people to access digital library resources, databases, and e-books from afar.
Help people find their way around the library's website, online catalogue, and digital content platforms.
Answer questions about references and research, and if a question is too hard, send it to a librarian.
Help with online programming, workshops, and outreach programs.
Handle online library card applications and keep accurate digital records.
Help with the promotion and management of virtual collections and resource guides.
Help the library with its social media and other ways of communicating.
Do things like data entry, digital filing, and other office work.
Fix and report technical problems with remote library services.
Attend staff meetings and training sessions that are held remotely as needed.

Qualifications :
You need a high school diploma or the equivalent. An associate's or bachelor's degree in library science, information science, or a related field is preferred.
It would be very helpful if you had worked in a library, school, or customer service before.
Good at talking and writing.
Being able to use computers, digital platforms, and online communication tools like Zoom, Teams, and Slack.
Able to use library management systems and online research databases (training will be given).
Very good at organising things and paying attention to details.
Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work alone in a remote setting.
A reliable internet connection and a quiet, professional place to work.
Pay per hour : $25.00 to $30.00, depending on experience and location.
