American Traveler is seeking an ICU RN with Illinois licensure and experience in an acuity-adaptable oncology ICU.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in an acuity-adaptable ICU within an oncology-focused facilityPrimarily manages post-surgical, sepsis infection, and pain management patientsAssignments include care for patients of mixed acuity in a 24-bed unit with an average daily census of 14Nurse to patient ratio is typically 1 : 3-4Care is managed in the same room, with no patient transfers between levelsUtilizes Pyxis medication system and EPIC documentationSBAR communication standard is usedFloating to other inpatient units required, occasional float to ERNight shift (3x12 hours : 19 : 00–07 : 30) with every third weekend requiredNo on-call responsibilitiesRole includes management of central / PICC lines, blood product administration, advanced airway and sedation management, and wound care with drains / vacFirst time travelers are welcome to apply36-48 hours of unit orientation providedTeam follows standardized procedures for infection prevention and isolation precautionsPewter scrubs required and not providedNo restrictive rules on requested time off (RTO)Travel pairs are welcomeNo required completion of online modules prior to start\n \n Requirements\n
Active Illinois RN license in hand (no pending licensure)Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) requiredBLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA only, no HeartCode)Chemotherapy certification requiredMinimum 1 year ICU RN experience required (2+ years preferred)Epic charting experience required for some unitsExperience in neuro or surgical ICU, dysrhythmia management, multi-system organ failure, advanced IV therapy, and ventilator care preferredFlu vaccine or signed declination form required during flu seasonFormer employees of the facility are not eligible for considerationLocals accepted at local rate, defined as living within a 75-mile radius\n Benefits\n
