Description :

Unit / NICU Level : NICU Level III

Number of beds : 20

Ratios : 1 : 1, 1 : 2

Charting System : Cerner

Charge Nurse : Yes, does not typically take patients

Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend

Holidays : Work into permanent staff rotation, expected to work holidays

Scrub Color : Navy

Telemetry : Monitor tech available

Interpreting Strips : Must be able to read and interpret strips

IVs and Drips : Will titrate drips

Ventilators : Managed typically by respiratory therapy

Neonatologist Availability : In-house 24 / 7

Respiratory Therapy Availability : On unit 24 / 7

Pharmacy Availability : 24 / 7

Shifts : 12-hour shifts, 0645-1915, 1845-0715

Floating : None

Common Diagnoses : Mostly congenital abnormalities, feeders / growers, ventilated patients, No ECMO patients

Cancellation Policy : Up to 4 shifts may be canceled during the assignment

Note : This position requires experience in a Level III NICU setting and competency in managing critical cases.
