About The Position

Must-Have : Minimum 3 years of labor and delivery experience, RN's must pass an exam during orientation

Description :

Candidates must not be full time, part time, or PRN with any affiliated facility.

A driver's license is required and will be used to confirm eligibility.

RNs are expected to pass a skills exam during orientation, which is open book.

A minimum score of 90% is needed to pass the exam.

The unit features 15 labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum beds.

Common diagnoses include obstetrics, post-partum, antepartum, and post-surgical GYN.

RNs are required to manage and titrate drips, such as Pitocin, Magnesium, and Procardia.

Patients to RNs ratio is typically 1 : 3, and 1 : 1 for laboring patients.

Charge nurses are present on each shift, and they take patient assignments.

RNs are primarily responsible for troubleshooting respiratory equipment.

There are no expectations for RNs to read telemetry strips; however, no telemetry technicians are available on the floor.

Shifts are scheduled as 12 hours, with weekend and holiday requirements applicable.

No call or standby requirements are necessary for this position.

Additional time off must be requested upfront and will not be approved after submission.

The unit is recognized for its quality patient care and high patient experience scores.

Breastfeeding support is available and encouraged.

The unit has a rare floating policy, only implemented in critical staffing situations.

RNs will undergo unit-specific orientation that includes classroom time followed by hands-on shifts.
