Environmental Services Worker
Performs a variety of environmental services to maintain assigned areas in a clean and orderly condition. Preferred qualifications include : education, certification, and / or licensure.
Core duties and responsibilities include : inspecting and ensuring that all assigned areas are properly cleaned and in good repair; cleaning all assigned areas; removing trash; replenishing supplies; making beds; maintaining equipment; moving equipment and furniture; and following safety and sanitation regulations.
For facilities with specialty accreditation requirements, completion of annual required education related to specialty accreditation is necessary. The physical demands include the ability to perform cleaning tasks, meet the Department of Labor's Heavy Duty Standard, and wear appropriate PPE for an extended period of time. The work environment involves frequent exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids, and different types of cleaning chemicals.
Skills and abilities include being scheduled for work based on operational needs, dealing tactfully with guests, demonstrating an understanding of assigned areas, necessary supplies, and equipment, and reading and following written work assignments.
