HV Underground Transmission Engineer

Base pay range

$129,400.00 / yr - $180,000.00 / yr

Responsibilities

• Develop HV / EHV cabling systems specifications, concept / detailed design and design review, estimation, site supervision and support as required.
• Provide technical support to the team on all aspects of HV cable system engineering and design.
• Prepare specifications, power cable route specifications, and reports and progress reports.
• Ensure correct and accurate interface with other engineering functions involved in the projects.
• Attend and conduct internal and external meetings with colleagues, clients, and subcontractors.
• Support factory inspections (FAT).
• Perform technical calculations including cable size, rating calculations, electromechanical and thermomechanical forces and EMF calculations, heat-induced voltage calculations.
• Perform design reviews and verification of design.
• Confirm that drawings and specification documents contain sufficient, accurate information for construction of the works; formally request any missing information to prevent project delays.
• Confirm that inspection and test plans are completed as required by the specifications, including a check of dimension accuracy and quality.
• Collaborate with teams; support hybrid working policy balancing Jacobs offices, projects, and remote locations.
