Job Description

The Counselor provides substance use services to youth, young adults, and their families. They provide clinical care by conducting substance use assessments, case management, and ASAM Level 1 Outpatient Treatment through individual, group, and family sessions.

The Counselor is a key member of the Behavioral Health team and plays a crucial role in providing support to the community.

FLSA Status : Non-Exempt, hourly

Reports To : Clinical Manager of Substance Use Services

essential duties

Clinical Services Tasks

• Provide evidence based and culturally responsive therapeutic interventions and services to youth and their families.
• Administer substance use assessments, provide individual, family and group counseling sessions in accordance with ASAM level of care.
• Diagnose substance use conditions in accordance with the most recently published Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM).
• Provide urinary substance use screenings to clients.
• Teach Alcohol and Drug Information School (ADIS) as needed.
• Provide case consultation, linkage, advocacy, and coordination of services to collateral contacts for assigned clients.
• Maintain direct service hours at 60% of total weekly work hours.
