Position Summary
The Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) provides assessment, counseling, education, and case management services to individuals with substance use disorders. The SUDP supports clients in achieving and maintaining recovery by delivering evidence-based, person-centered treatment within the agency’s continuum of care. The position requires maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations, professional ethics, and agency policies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive substance use assessments, including biopsychosocial evaluations and ASAM level of care determinations.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients and interdisciplinary team members.
Facilitate individual, group, and family counseling sessions using evidence-based approaches such as CBT, MI, and relapse prevention strategies.
Provide case management and referral services to support client recovery needs (e.g., housing, employment, medical, mental health).
Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation consistent with WAC / RCW standards and agency policy.
Conduct urinalysis and other monitoring as required.
Participate in multidisciplinary case consultations, staff meetings, and ongoing clinical supervision.
Educate clients and families on addiction, recovery, and relapse prevention.
Coordinate care with external providers, probation officers, and community partners as appropriate.
Maintain current SUDP credential and complete required continuing education.
Uphold professional and ethical standards as defined by NAADAC and state regulations.
Qualifications
Required :
Active Washington State Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) license (formerly CDP).
Knowledge of ASAM Criteria and experience completing assessments and treatment plans.
Proficiency in clinical documentation and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and multidisciplinary teams.
