Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate construction contracts, subcontracts, amendments, purchase orders, and change orders.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, including Connecticut procurement and construction regulations.
- Certify and maintain payroll records in accordance with prevailing wage and labor compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with project teams to interpret contract terms, resolve disputes, and mitigate risks.
- Monitor contractual obligations, deliverables, and deadlines to ensure all parties remain in compliance.
- Assist in preparing RFPs, RFQs, bid documents, and contract award packages.
- Maintain accurate contract documentation, records, and reporting systems.
- Support claims management and coordinate with legal counsel on disputes when necessary.
- Provide guidance and training to project managers and staff on contract procedures and best practices.
- Develop and implement standard contract templates and workflows to improve efficiency.
Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, Legal Studies, or a related field (required).Minimum 2–5 years of experience in contract administration or management within the construction industry.Strong knowledge of construction delivery methods, contract law, and construction-related regulations in Connecticut.Experience with payroll certification and labor compliance tracking.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and contract management software.Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.Ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and risk assessment abilities.Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with AIA contract documents and state / federal construction procurement requirements.Experience with public sector or DOT contracts in Connecticut.Certification such as Certified Construction Contract Administrator (CCCA) or Certified
