About The Position

Experience : 2+ Years of OR RN Experience

License : Michigan

Certifications : BLS (AHA)

Must-Have :

• Proficient in OR cases, including general, ortho, ob / gyn, including endo, eye (preferred), and endoscopy.
• Current skills checklist pertinent to the specialty.
• Two supervisory reference forms, taken within the last two years.

Description :

This position is responsible for assessing the needs of each patient before and during a surgical procedure.

Maintains patient safety throughout the surgical process.

The RN outlines individual care plans and implements, evaluates, and documents care during surgical procedures.

Provides leadership to the OR team.

Communicates effectively with the patient, family, OR team, supervisors, managers, and ancillary departments.

Participates in staff development through preceptorship and continuing education.

Responsibilities :

Assess the needs of the surgical patient and develop a plan of care specific for that patient.

Implement and evaluate the plan of care during the procedure, making necessary adjustments to prioritize patient safety.

Supervise activities in the surgical room.

Anticipate and coordinate any schedule changes for the room.

Assemble equipment and supplies.

Assist anesthesia as necessary and monitor the sterile field.

Communicate with patients, families, physicians, the OR team, and other departments.

Participate in staff development by attending in-services, educational meetings, staff meetings, and other learning opportunities for leadership and growth.
