Winpak Control Group (WCG) is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to lead the Printing Maintenance Department based out of Norwood, NJ
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Printing Maintenance Engineer to join our team at WCG. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of our printing presses and related equipment. Your role will involve performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, calibrating machines to ensure consistent print quality, and managing parts inventory. Additionally, you will provide technical support to operators and coordinate with vendors for repairs when necessary. Your expertise will be critical in minimizing downtime and maintaining efficient production processes.
Responsibilities
- Preventative Maintenance
- Perform routine maintenance on printing presses, including cleaning, lubrication, and component inspection.
- Monitor paper feed systems and consumables to prevent disruptions.
- Calibrate color settings for consistent accuracy and check electrical / mechanical systems.
- Troubleshooting and Repairs
- Diagnose and repair malfunctions in electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
- Replace faulty components and analyze error codes for efficient repairs.
- Parts Management
- Manage inventory of spare parts and consumables, ensuring adequate stock levels and timely ordering.
- Track part usage and monitor inventory for efficiency.
- Technical Support
- Train operators on proper press maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with production teams to optimize equipment performance.
- Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain records of maintenance, repairs, and parts used.
- Generate performance reports and document troubleshooting steps for future reference.
- Safety and Compliance
- Promote safety and maintain a safe working environment.
- Participate in the Health and Safety Committee and ensure regulatory compliance.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or equivalent5+ years of experience troubleshooting and repairing printing press mechanics, electrical systems, and pneumatic controls.5+ years of experience using hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices for equipment maintenance and repairs.3+ years of experience working with food contact (FDA) and cGMP regulations and requirements.5+ years of experience in managing technical support and collaborating with production teams, preferably in a printing environment.5+ years of experience in maintaining safety standards and regulatory compliance within an industrial setting.3+ years of experience in parts management, including inventory control and timely ordering of spare parts and consumables.Preferred Qualifications
10+ years of experience in the printing industry, covering both equipment and materials.1+ years of experience coaching and training operators' maintenance for machines1+ years of experience with vendor coordination for repairs and part sourcing.1+ years of experience in generating performance reports and documentation related to equipment performance and troubleshooting.Additional Details
This position is for a day shift, with occasional weekend and evening support requiredThis position is 100% onsite.Required travel : Occasional travel for training or vendor support may be required.Compensation Range : $100,000.00 to 118,000.00
