This role, the Shop / Fleet Mechanic, will oversee the performance and maintenance of the fleet vehicles and production machinery. Now this has different meaning than what you might be thinking if you're coming from a "traditional" garage; here you might be doing maintenance and repairs on trucks and cars. But, you may also be working on aerial lifts, forklifts, mini- excavators and other manufacturing equipment. No day is ever the same!
What will you do in your job?
- Perform repair work on vehicles : breakdowns and malfunctions
- Follow flow procedures including documenting correct mileage / hours, saving and tagging all warranty and core parts, documenting all repairs on work order using complaint, cause, and correction format
- Follow parts ordering / billing procedures
- Perform preventive maintenance on off-road equipment such as lubrications, adjustments, and safety inspections
