Overview

DiaMedical USA is a fast-growing medical equipment manufacturer and distributor looking for an experienced Production Manager in our Farmington Hills, MI warehouse. Our mission is to improve quality healthcare by acting as a turnkey solution for healthcare facilities and educational institutions, allowing clinicians and instructors to prioritize patient care. We are one of the largest healthcare and education equipment providers in the country, providing a single source supplier of over 1,500 healthcare and instructional manufacturers.

The Production Manager is responsible for directing team members and coordinating the daily operations for all facets of the manufacturing and distribution activities in the Warehouse. This role will manage production schedules and order fulfillment, drive efficiency improvements, and maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

The ideal candidate will have a strong manufacturing and construction management background, excellent leadership skills, awareness of budget cost and control, and a strong commitment to quality and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all floor activities by being highly visible and providing support to direct individuals to assigned tasks to ensure projected productivity is met and reduce bottlenecks.
  • Oversee efficient order flow including receiving, inventory, fulfillment, and shipment of customer orders.
  • Manage production timelines and schedules while holding team members accountable to time studies and deadlines.
  • Optimize production and manufacturing processes to ensure consistent and timely output, increase construction quality, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate timelines, schedules and potential roadblocks to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Create new product designs with the assistance of the Director of Operations and Executive Vice President.
  • Work with the Director of Operations to implement and track performance, quality, and productivity metrics based on historical and anticipated activity.
  • Oversee white glove delivery and installation team and processes to ensure delivery, assembly, installation, and set up requirements are met at customer locations.
  • Manage demand planning and inventory levels to ensure operational timelines are met.
  • Manage weekly reporting on operational output, time studies, and productivity.
  • Troubleshoot issues in the ERP system and escalate unresolvable system issues as needed.
  • Act as the first point of escalation for all work-related issues and collaborate with Human Resources to address employment concerns.
  • Proactively manage a safe work environment, follow OSHA rules and regulations, monitor safety practices, and recommend improvements or escalate violations.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Determine resource needs and manage Warehouse personnel to maintain a diverse, harassment-free work environment.
  • Responsible for the team's time management, performance management, coaching and career development of employees.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality in all employee-related issues, proprietary information, and operational processes.
  • Education

  • High School diploma or GED and 3 years supervisory experience in a Manufacturing and / or Construction environment.
  • Skills And Experience

  • Prior Construction and / or Manufacturing oversight experience required.
  • Proven leadership capabilities with Team Lead or Supervisory experience required.
  • Ability to read, understand, and execute blueprints and dimensioned diagrams.
  • Proven ability to operate hand and power tools and use ladders (e.g., screw guns, circular saws, jigsaws, drills, hammers).
  • Prior experience with woodworking and assembly.
  • Industrial equipment certification with valid Driver's License (forklift and pallet jack as examples).
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations.
  • Experience with ERP Systems, Warehouse Management Systems and Shipping Software preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel for reporting.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication and collaboration skills.
