Finance & Government Services Director
Big Stone County is seeking a strategic leader to serve as our nextFinance & Government Services Director. This is a high-impact executive role responsible for overseeing the Countys financial operations and a wide range of public services including property records, taxation, elections, licensing, passports, and vital statistics. This is an exempt, full-time position with a 2025 hourly wage range of $48.54-63.69 / hr. This position reports to the County Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities :
- Serve as the CountysChief Financial Officer, managing budgets, audits, investments, and financial reporting.
- Lead and supervise teams across finance, property assessment, elections, and licensing.
- Ensure compliance with Minnesota property tax law, GAAP, and GASB standards.
- Collaborate with the County Board, department heads, and external agencies to drive operational excellence.
- Represent the County in public forums and with community stakeholders.
Qualifications :
Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field and 5 years of public sector experience (preferred)Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the jobCPA preferred but not required.What Were Looking For :
