Bericap is a privately held family-owned company founded in 1926, and is one of the leading manufacturers of plastic closures for food, beverage and industrial markets. As a result of continued growth Bericap SC, LLC has a full-time, hourly openings for Injection Operators reporting to the Production Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities :
General
- Ensures that all work undertaken is carried out safely and without injury
- Ensures Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) are followed at all times (no jewelry, cell phone, nicotine in any form, etc.)
- Ensures that all food safety issues are reported to the appropriate manager or supervisor
- Housekeeping duties performed throughout the shift
- Ability to lift 35 pounds unassisted and while standing / walking for duration of shift
- Dispose of scrap into proper containers
- Initiates corrective action for non-conformances
- Identify Opportunities for Improvement and enter into See It, Sort It, Report It system
- Able and willing to wear appropriate PPE as required
- Flexible to quickly adapt to learning new tasks, moving to new areas to meet changing customer demands

Injection Operator Functions
Startup / shut down of injection machinesEnsure machines are running as per production scheduleResponding to machine alarmsComplete quality checks (bingo trays, visuals, perform checks)Documentation of quality checks at set intervalsDocumentation of production paperworkDocumentation of process adjustmentsPackaging and tagging of productTroubleshooting of process and accessory equipmentPreventative maintenance of molds as prescribedDaily and weekly sanitizing of machines and moldsChangeover of machines for different products Issuing work orders for machine, mold and safety issuesDocument machine issues via document management system (OPS tracker)Lines set up and verified per the document management system (Docushare)Documentation of master cleaning schedulesDocumentation of cleaning, housekeeping in SPCCollection of plant scrap at the end of shift or as necessary during shift; weight and enter into systemColor Changes (Plastracm Movacolor and Wittman)Skills

Minimum 1 year manufacturing experience in injection molding required
Education
High school diploma is preferred
