Overview
Broadcast Management Group (BMG) seeks an on-air Graphics Operator to work on daily live shows. The Graphics Operator will oversee all aspects of production operations for live and live-to-tape programming. This role includes the primary responsibility of creating all graphic elements within the Adobe system before each production, such as lower thirds, bugs, charts, and full-screens, and ensuring each element is tested prior to airing. The Studio Production Manager will maintain all existing production equipment, including proper tagging and inventory management, checking gear in and out for production projects, and troubleshooting equipment as needed. This role will also support other control room tasks involved in productions. This position is based at a BMG client’s corporate site in the New York City area and reports to the Executive Producer.
Essential functions
- Work closely with Executive Producer, Producers, Technical Director, Operations Manager
- Graphics creation (general and specific, charts and graphs, etc.)
- Track playback during the show
- Maintain the lower third of a TV screen during production
- Cue, play and mix pre-recorded sound during production
- Run teleprompter during production
- Create transcriptions
- Post-production of all captions
- Light editing in post-production using Adobe Premiere
- Assist in control room ingest process for studio content, offload remote field shoots and execute file transfers
- Actively participates in the support of video operations team including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and preventative maintenance
- Coordinate with content groups on footage requests for shows, pulls footage from in-house resources and requests through external vendors
- Prepare studio assets and operate playback for live studio production
- Assist in server organization and management across multiple storage volumes
- Archive content and object storage and keep detailed documentation
- Assist in organization and management, asset metadata tagging and troubleshooting
- Check out and keep inventory of hard drives and SD cards
- Light animation experience a plus
