Fund Management And Compliance Analyst
The Fund Management And Compliance Analyst is a key member of the Gift Agreement & Endowment Services (GAES) team within Advancement. This role supports financial accountability and compliance for donor-supported funds, ensuring alignment with university policies and applicable laws. The ideal candidate will be a curious, relationship-oriented professional with strong interpersonal skills and a talent for asking strategic, insightful questions. They will collaborate across the university to promote integrity, transparency, and effective stewardship of philanthropic resources.
The Fund Management And Compliance Analyst will report to the Senior Compliance Analyst within the GAES team. This position collaborates with colleges and units to implement internal controls, processes and programs that assess and assist with enhancing compliance. They help conduct regular compliance reviews and work closely with colleagues in development, colleges, medical center, units, and internal audit to align fund usage with institutional policies. They assist with maintaining organizational compliance with applicable regulations and industry standards while promoting a culture of integrity and accountability, and stay informed of relevant pending legislation.
In addition, this role assists with compiling, analyzing, and monitoring data related to donor-supported funds to identify areas of risk. The Compliance Analyst helps produce routine and ad hoc customized reports and may serve as a resource to faculty and staff by providing guidance on financial, gift, and compliance policies. May occasionally engage with donors to clarify fund usage and policy alignment.
The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual with excellent skills in working with and communicating financial data. They will also have basic proficiency in Excel (e.g., pivot tables, formulas), experience with a customer relationship database such as TAS, and introductory experience with Tableau or similar data visualization tools. Operates with a high degree of independence, decision-making capabilities, judgement, and consistency. Must be able to manage multiple projects at once, have a strong customer service orientation, and experience building collaborative relationships and strong written and verbal communication skills.

70% Responsible for supporting, coordinating, and implementing effective methods for ensuring financial accountability and compliance with applicable policies and laws; Collaborates with colleges and units across the university to assist with implementing internal controls, processes and programs that assess and enhance compliance; Assists with conducting regular compliance reviews and works closely with colleagues in development, colleges, medical center, units, and internal audit to ensure alignment with institutional policies; Maintains organizational compliance with applicable regulations and industry standards while promoting a culture of integrity and accountability and stays informed of relevant pending legislation; Assists with conducting regular reviews of account balances and spending patterns, facilitates meetings to document spending plans, and promotes consistent compliance practice across units; Maintains accurate records, monitors policy thresholds, and investigates potential compliance violations in alignment with university standards and external regulations; Coordinates and convenes meetings to review fund balances and develop spending plans as appropriate; Monitors pending / endowed funds to ensure required funding levels are reached; Works with development / stewardship officers to determine appropriate alternatives if required funding is not reached; Updates and maintains contact information for fund administrators; Assists with compiling, analyzing, and monitoring data related to donor-supported funds to identify areas of risk; Helps produces routine and ad hoc customized reports; Serves as a resource to faculty and staff by providing guidance on financial, gift, and compliance policies; May occasionally engage with donors to clarify fund usage and policy alignment.
15% Advises faculty and staff including but not limited to development staff, fiscal staff, fund administrators about relevant university financial and gift policies; may occasionally talk with donors to explain the same; Partners with central development staff and college / unit development and fiscal staff to resolve specific issues or concerns about donor-supported funds, on behalf of donors and the university; Remains current on gift policies.
10% Participates in developing and performing test scenarios for Fund Management Reporting (Designation Profile Report, Unspent Balances, Fund Management Dashboard, etc.); Assists with development and implementation of training materials for Fund Management Reporting; May help resolve questions about TAS issues related to funds, as submitted through the Help Desk.
5% Assists to guide strategies and participate in projects to improve internal and external processes; Serves as backup gift agreement and endowment description writer; May represent GAES at senior fiscal officer meetings and other related university meetings; Performs other duties as assigned.
