Job Description :
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our clinic team. As an APP, you will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive care to patients with neuromuscular disorders. You will collaborate closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care tailored to the unique needs of each patient. The position is full-time and solely in an outpatient setting.
Responsibilities :
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients with neuromuscular disorders, including medical history, physical and neurologic examinations, and diagnostic tests.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the physicians, addressing the physical, emotional, and psychosocial aspects of patient care.
- Monitor patients' progress and response to treatment, adjusting care plans as necessary to optimize outcomes.
- Perform procedures such as skin biopsy and injecting Botox (for chronic migraine). You will receive on-site training for these. May also deliver SC / IM medication injections.
- Manage patients with autonomic disorders, including discussing autonomic function testing reports (testing done on-site), symptoms, and treatment options.
- Educate patients and their families about their condition, treatment options, and self-management strategies, ensuring they have the knowledge and resources needed to participate in their care effectively.
- Coordinate care across multiple healthcare settings, including referrals to specialists, rehabilitation services, and community resources.
- Participate in industry-sponsored clinical research trials, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing education activities to enhance clinical practice and contribute to advancements in neuromuscular care.
- Be involved in our multi-disciplinary ALS clinic which involves collaboration among different specialists and organizations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient encounters, assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic health record system.
- Demonstrate professionalism, empathy, and respect for patients' autonomy and cultural diversity in all interactions.
Requirements :
Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program (for NPs).Current license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physicians Assistant in Texas.Certification as a Nurse Practitioner specializing in Adult-Gerontology, Acute Care, or another relevant specialty. As a PA, would prefer neurology / neuromuscular experience.Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, with a focus on neurology or neuromuscular disorders preferred.Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills, with the ability to interpret laboratory and imaging studies effectively.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport with patients and collaborate effectively with the healthcare team.Proficiency in electronic health record systems and other clinical software applications.Commitment to lifelong learning and professional development, including participation in relevant conferences, workshops, and certification programs.Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced clinical environment.Preferred Qualifications :
