Responsibilities
The ACEJMC-accredited School of Journalism and Strategic Media at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for an interactive media full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant or associate professor (position #144130). The start date for the position is August 1, 2026. The successful applicant will teach interactive media and other courses in the School of Journalism and Strategic Media. To be tenured, the school requires a record of excellence in teaching, peer-reviewed creative activity (such as juried competitions / shows, app development, etc.) or scholarly research, and service to the school, college, university, and the profession.

Required Education
A terminal degree in a communication or media-related field or a closely related field is required by the appointment date.
A master's degree in a communication or media-related field or a closely related field with four (4) years of full-time communication or media-focused professional work experience by the appointment date will be considered in lieu of a terminal degree. To receive experience credit for full-time, freelance work, applicants must list each project with a description, including the project's length, on their CVs.
