About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Profession : Nursing

Specialty : Cardio Thoracic ICU

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Night and Day

Hours per Shift : 12 hours

Experience :

Experience in CVICU required.

Two years of acute care experience within the last three years is required.

License :

Must have a valid nursing license or compact license from their permanent address state.

Certifications :

BLS and ACLS must be certified through the American Heart Association only.

Must-Have :

Basic Arrhythmia experience required.

Must pass a telemetry test prior to starting.

Description :

Join a dedicated team to provide high-quality care to patients in a specialized unit.

Care will be delivered with a blend of technological expertise and a commitment to meeting patient and family needs.

Be an integral part of a team that provides care for patients requiring specialized care for cardiac and thoracic surgeries and procedures.

Experience in a Cardiothoracic Surgery and / or Acuity Adaptable area preferred.

Floating to other units may be required based on staffing needs.

Night and day shifts are available, with every other weekend and some holidays required.

The unit specializes in caring for patients undergoing cardiac surgery and treatment for heart and lung conditions.

Staff assignments may vary throughout shifts as patients are admitted and discharged.

Nursing team comprised of charge RNs and RNs in direct patient care assignments.

In practice, nurses typically care for 1-2 patients, with up to 3 if acuity is low.

Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy.

The unit manages a variety of diagnoses and specialized procedures including heart and lung transplants.

Candidates must meet training and competency requirements, including passing a telemetry exam.

Telemetry competency must be active and maintained throughout the contract.
