Your Role
The Controller is responsible for supporting the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in ensuring the effective operation of the accounting and financial reporting functions of the bank. This involves directing all accounting activities, overseeing financial reporting, and administering accounting policies and directives. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial data, adherence to regulatory standards, and provides crucial financial insights to support the bank's strategic growth and stability.

- Manages and oversees daily operations and functions of the Accounting Department, including but not limited to, general ledger activity, accounts payable and receivable, fixed assets, period-end close processes, and reconciliations.
- Maintains a documented system of accounting policies, procedures and internal controls over accounting transactions to mitigate the risk of misstatement or loss and to ensure the timeliness and accuracy of financial reporting.
- Oversees the appropriate GAAP accounting treatment and reporting for new and existing bank transactions.
- Leads and reviews month-end closing process and preparations of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Coordinates the annual financial audit and preparation of annual consolidated financials.
- Coordinates the tax filings, payments, and maintains the analysis and reporting for deferred income taxes.
- Oversees other statutory and regulatory reporting as needed, including 1099’s, property tax, sales tax refunds, etc.
- Manages, coaches, and mentors assigned staff to ensure their capacity to deliver quality work; completes staff performance evaluations.
- Gathers information for board reports and participates in the preparation of documentation and reporting for board review.
- Establishes criteria for periodic review and evaluation of accounting processes and procedures.
- Assists in budgeting and forecasting by providing trends and analysis.
- Monitors monthly operating expenses and budget variances and ensures ongoing compliance with established budgetary guidelines.
- Acts as primary Finance liaison for new system or product implementation to ensure that the controls and accounting processes are appropriate, accurate and efficient.
- Ensures compliance with all state and federal regulations and internal company policies; Maintains up to date knowledge and keeps abreast of new compliance legislation.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
What You’ll Bring
Expertise in applying accounting standards, rules, and regulations, such as those promulgated by various accounting standards boards and foundations.Experience performing audits or similar work in which financial statement assertions and documentary evidence are examined and evaluated.Committed to recruiting, mentoring, training, and retaining a diverse team, with the foresight and ability to delegate accordingly.Experience identifying and resolving errors and questionable accounting practices.Exhibits professional skepticism and clear understanding of internal controls.Strong analytic, organization, and problem-solving skills, enabling a focus on strategic data interpretation versus simple reporting.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high growth environment, managing multiple activities and changing priorities within tight timeframes.Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate accounting results to both accounting and non-accounting customers at various levels of the organization.Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and applicable accounting systems.Ability to work with internal and external contacts professionally and tactfully.Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university, preferably in Accounting or Finance.8+ years’ progressive experience, preferably in a banking or financial services environment (either direct experience at a bank, comparable experience in public accounting servicing banks, or a combination thereof).An equivalent combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable.Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to remain in a stationary position and operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a multi-line telephone, copy machine, scanner, fax, and computer printer. Work Environment
Climate controlled business office environment.Ability to work in artificial light for extended periods of time.The noise level is usually moderate.Work involves being able to concentrate on the matter at hand, under sometimes distracting work conditions and frequent interruptions during the day.This is a full-time position : Monday through Friday; 40 hours per week.Work requires regular attendance, punctuality, and adherence to an agreed-upon schedule with willingness to work a flexible and / or rotating schedule and / or extended hours, as needed.Travel Required

Pay : $140,000 to $180,000
