Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) Residency – February 2026

Come and join our LVN Residency Program! We invite graduate LVN’s to apply for this unique opportunity. The next cohort will begin on February 23, 2026.

Integrated into a Hospital’s education structure, the Texas Health LVN Residency Program includes a guided clinical experience with an instructor-led core curriculum, a formal mentoring program, informative debriefing / self-care sessions and supportive 360-degree evaluations. Residents not only participate in the learning experience on their personally selected home units, but they also rotate / cross train through other departments to gain an expanded nursing experience vital to the complex patient care.

The Texas Health LVN Program is a comprehensive, evidence based on-boarding program with a 15-month employment commitment that offers new LVN’s an exciting opportunity to gain the experience, judgment, skills, and confidence to successfully navigate the complexity of hospital life.

Where You Will Be Working

Work location : Texas Health Stephenville- 411 Belknap St, Stephenville, TX 76401

Work environment : Med Surg Tele

Work hours : Upon completion of the Residency, anticipated hours will be full-time, (3)-12-hour shifts; rotating weekends, holidays, and on call shifts required

Department Highlights

The Medical / Surgical (Med / Surg) Department at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Stephenville (THS) provides care for medical and surgical patients from 29 days through the geriatric population. The Med / Surg Department is located on the second floor of the hospital and operates 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. There are 23 patient rooms. Our staffing plan delivers safe patient care utilizing a qualified skill mix including RNs, Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), Patient Care Techs (PCTs), and Telemetry Monitor Techs. Adjustments are made for acuity; skill mix and staff competency and support staff availability. The patient population is primarily adult, but occasionally pediatric patients are admitted. Typical diagnoses admitted include total joint replacement, hip / pelvic fracture, pneumonia, DKA, complicated appendectomies / gall bladders, CHF, complicated wounds, new onset atrial fibrillation, sepsis, metabolic encephalopathy, acute cystitis, rhabdomyolysis and other general medical / surgical conditions. The Med / Surg Department has excellent employee retention at 87%. The culture at THS is one of family; we take care of our friends, relatives and neighbors. Things You Need For The Position

Graduate of an accredited vocational nursing program required.

Acceptance into THR residency program required.

Graduated within the last 12 months preferred.

Less than one-year experience at the time the residency begins preferred.

Have not previously completed a THR nursing residency preferred.

LVN - Licensed Vocational Nurse upon hire required.

BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required.
