American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level III NICU position requiring at least 2 years of neonatal ICU experience and valid ND or compact RN license.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in an acute care hospital40-bed NICU with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 : 1 to 1 : 2 for critical / intermediate infants and 3 : 1 for growing / feeding infantsHandles neonatal patients, including critically ill and intermediate care infantsUtilizes conventional and high frequency ventilators (Draeger, jet, oscillator), nitric oxide, cool cap, MedFusion pumps, Smart pumps, Spacelab monitors, MAK medication system, Accudose, and Epic EMR12-hour night shifts with every other weekend and holiday requiredFloat to PEDS and PICU units as neededTraining provided on Epic (OneChart) and 2 days orientation with a buddy to assess safe patient assignmentsResponsible for complete neonatal nursing care including assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation, and accurate chartingRequired to badge in and out at the facilityScrub requirement : child-friendly scrubs with role-specific colored pantsReturning travelers must have a 6-month gap since last employment with the health systemCandidates must not reside within a 60-mile radius of the facility; those living 60-80 miles away may be subject to a local pay adjustment\n \n Requirements\n
Active ND or compact RN license required at time of considerationMinimum 2 years of experience in a Level III NICU settingCurrent American Heart Association BLS certificationCurrent Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certificationCompetency in neonatal assessments, IVs, umbilical lines, CPAP, nasal cannula, oral / IV meds, OG / NG feedings, G-tubes, and assisting with intubations, spinal taps, and PICC line placementsExperience with Epic charting system highly preferredMust be willing and able to float to PICU and PEDS units\n Benefits\n
