About The Position

• Ability to detect and escalate neuro changes
• Understanding of telemetry and rhythm analysis

Description :

The unit has 36 licensed beds.

The average daily census is currently 35 patients.

Patient types and common diagnoses include stroke, heart failure, TIA, sepsis, syncope, acute kidney injury, chest pain, and other general intermediate diagnoses.

Patient ratios are RN : 1 : 4, LPN : 1 : 4, and CNA : 1 : 9-12.

The role involves general care of intermediate patients as this is a designated intermediate care stroke unit.

Candidates must be proficient in managing hemodynamic drips and titrating medications such as Cardizem, Heparin, Insulin, Neo, Nitro, and Amiodarone.

Telemetry monitoring includes understanding and analyzing rhythms, with support from cardiac surveillance.

The unit is equipped with routine lifting equipment, vital signs equipment, CBG machines, wound vacs as needed, and specialized monitoring equipment.

The environment is characterized by strong leadership and a solid work ethic within the team.

Support roles within the department include CNAs and charge nurses.

Duties for CNAs involve assisting with general activities of daily living, vital signs monitoring, ambulation, feeding assistance, and other assigned tasks.

Receptionists and health unit coordinators operate during the day shift, while no such roles are designated for the night shift.

Phlebotomy services are available within the unit.

Respiratory therapy support is available 24 / 7, along with hospitalist and intensivist services.
