About The Position

Job Title : GI Procedure Technician Certified

Profession : Endoscopy Tech

Specialty : Endoscopy

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Day Shift

Hours per Shift : 7 : 00 AM - 3 : 00 PM

Experience : Minimum of 1 year of experience preferred in an outpatient setting

License : BLS certification

Certifications : CST, SGNA, CBSPD, or IAHCSMM certification required

Must-Have :

• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with others
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English; Spanish as a second language is helpful
• Ability to work at a rapid pace under stressful conditions

Description :

Assists physicians with diagnostic and therapeutic gastrointestinal procedures.

Responsible for care, maintenance, inventory, and reorder of all gastrointestinal related supplies and equipment.

Completion of high school or GED is required.

Prefer two years of post-high school education in a related healthcare field, preferable in radiology, respiratory, or nursing.

Requires knowledge of safety standards to limit exposure to infectious disease and strong chemicals.

In daily contact with body fluids of patients.

Operates, cleans, and maintains procedure equipment such as endoscopes, video and microprocessor instruments, biopsy forceps, stents, cautery, etc.

Moves from one area to another within the hospital or clinic.

Positions patients, lifts, and moves equipment throughout the facility.

Able to serve in a limited nursing assistant role in the outpatient procedure clinic.

Weekend requirement includes two weekends a month (Saturday and Sunday).

On-call requirement includes one weeknight of call per week.

Reports to the Manager of Perianesthesia and Charge Nurse.
