Job Description & Requirements Specialty : ICU - Intensive Care Unit Discipline : RN Start Date : 11 / 12 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, nights Employment Type : Travel ICU (Intensive Care Unit) 1 years exp required ICU Unit Notes - 2nd Floor MICU / SICU Hospital Requirements Hospital Size : 300 beds (Required) Trauma Level : Must have experience in Level I or Level II Trauma Centers Unit Overview Unit : ICU (MICU with some SICU patients) Number of Beds : 16 Nurse-to-Patient Ratio : 1 : 2 Support Staff : Nurse Aides present Scrub Color : Black Required Certifications BLS (Basic Life Support) ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) Common Diagnoses / Patient Types CRRT (Prismaflex) Rotaprone Targeted Temperature Management (Arctic Sun) Mass transfusions / MTP Paralytics & Train of 4 monitoring ECMO (Occasionally) 24-hour EEG monitoring EVD, LP drains Neurosurgical patients Traumas : drownings, tractor rollovers, MVAs, fractures Spinal cord injuries Sepsis, DKA Post-surgical recovery COVID Post-cardiac cath (may pull sheaths) Suicide ideation (SI) Bedside procedures (trachs, chest tubes, bronchs, arterial lines) Organ recovery (procurement only; no transplant procedures) Preferred / Must-Have Skills Sheath pulling experience (preferred) CRRT experience (highly preferred) Level II Trauma Center experience (required or higher) Comfortable with bedside procedures Drips & Titration Are nurses required to titrate drips? Yes Common titratable drips : Precedex Vasopressors Antiarrhythmics Sedation agents General ICU drips Staffing Structure Charge Nurse : Day Shift : Usually staffed by Blessing staff nurse Night Shift : May be House Supervisor Takes smaller patient load to assist as needed Intensivist / Hospitalist Coverage : 24 / 7 - Includes both physicians and nurse practitioners RT Coverage : 24 / 7 respiratory therapist assigned to ICU / PCU Monitor Tech : Yes; monitor strips are read by RN Telemetry System : Draeger (RNs interpret their own strips) Scheduling & Shifts Shifts : 3 x 12-hour shifts (7AM - 7PM or 7PM - 7AM) Scheduling : Self-scheduling allowed but block scheduling not guaranteed . Schedules released 6 weeks in advance.
