American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a night shift Med / Surg Tele ED holding float pool position requiring a NC or compact RN license and strong MS / Tele skills.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in the ED Holding inpatient unit within the Emergency Department as part of the float poolCare for adult patients with any medical / surgical diagnosis requiring telemetry monitoringFloat required to the Emergency Department and Med / Surg areas as neededTarget patient ratio is 1 : 5-6Night shifts with options for 36 or 48 hours per week13-26 week contract options availableEvery other weekend required as scheduled by the managerStandard equipment includes cardiac monitors, IV pumps, and monitoring systemsEMR system is Epic; familiarity requiredUses Pyxis for medication management and SBAR for communicationED holding unit serves high acuity patients awaiting inpatient bedsTravelers expected to work as part of storm and hurricane response teams as neededStaff may be consolidated or preassigned to different units mid-contract if needed during eventsUp to 7 days RTO permitted if not during orientation or on a holiday; no RTO after bookingMust be able to work 2 out of 3 major holidays during the assignmentOrientation consists of 12 hoursNavy scrubs requiredCannot have been a perm / PRN / EP staff employee at related facilities within the past 12 monthsCurrent travel Per Diem clinicians at this health system are ineligible for travel contractsCandidates must be comfortable floating without restrictionsTravel pairs allowed if working in different unitsCandidates residing under 50 miles will be offered local pay rates\n \n Requirements\n
Active NC or compact RN license required at startMinimum 2 years of recent MS / Tele nursing experience requiredTravel RN experience requiredCurrent BLS certification requiredDemonstrated skills in dysrhythmia interpretation and management, telemetry monitoring (unit and remote), rapid response team use, colostomy and feeding tube care, renal failure management, blood product administration, peripheral / PICC line care, phlebotomy, heparin and insulin administration, chest tube management (Emerson / Pleur-evac), CPAP / BiPAP, HFNC, ABG interpretation, airway management, and tracheostomy careMust pass EKG testing prior to startEpic charting experience required\n Benefits\n
