WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking an experienced Group Investment Counsel to join our team.
SOME OF THE INTERESTING CHALLENGES AHEAD OF YOU
- Coordinate and oversee legal transaction management for cross-border investments and disposals, ensuring consistency and excellence across jurisdictions.
- Act as primary legal coordinator for transactions in the UK, Netherlands, and France, where no local in-house counsel is present.
- Ensure efficient legal due diligence processes, in close cooperation with country legal teams.
- Maintain clarity in corporate-level reporting of legal issues, agreeing on resolution strategies and ensuring implementation.
- Promote transparent, two-way legal communication between corporate and country deal teams to foster unified transaction execution.
- Develop and implement standardized legal documentation templates (NDAs, NBOLs, HOTs) and internal transactional checklists for acquisitions, disposals, forward purchases, and forward fundings.
- Lead legal cost control initiatives at the group level.
- Serve as the delegated legal advisor to the CIO on all acquisition and disposal transactions, in alignment with local legal teams.
- Keep investment and development legal guidelines updated, in collaboration with relevant internal stakeholders.
- Initiate and lead recurring legal workshops to share transaction-related lessons learned and promote knowledge exchange among in-house lawyers.
- Build and maintain a best-practice catalogue of legal risk mitigation strategies for recurring issues in yielding acquisitions and disposals.
- Support legal consistency, autonomy, and excellence by empowering local legal teams while safeguarding corporate governance and risk standards.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SHINE IN THIS ROLE
Seniority : 8+ years qualified licensed lawyer with team management experience.Jurisdiction of qualification : Any continental European or common law-based country, provided the person is able to work across jurisdictions.Expertise : Real estate focused (strong preference for industrial real estate expertise in development), deal management experience (asset and share transactions), demonstrated ability to lead a transaction team and co-ordinate across disciplines (legal / tax / fin / tech / enviro), document management throughout project and data room onboarding.Qualities : Ability to manage teams and colleagues with sensitivity and diplomacy; readiness to work under pressure to untangle and resolve issues with particular patience and focus; resilience in the centrifuge of a high speed, high expectation and high performance transactional environment; the self-confidence to stand your ground, command respect and demonstrate real authority.WHY SHOULD YOU JOIN US
