We are seeking an experienced Family Practice Physician Assistant for a 65-day locum tenens assignment at a primary care office in New York. Starting Jan 13, 2026, this role offers a Monday through Friday schedule with day shifts from 8am to 4 : 30pm. The position involves providing independent patient care in a collaborative team environment alongside 3 doctors and 2 advanced practice providers.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide direct patient care for a Family Medicine patient panel
  • Conduct office visits scheduled in 15 and 30 minute increments, averaging 20 patients per day
  • Work independently and collaboratively within a team of physicians and advanced practice providers
  • Utilize support staff, including a tenured LPN, to optimize patient care delivery
  • Deliver care in a fast-paced, rural health environment
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient encounters
  • Adhere to established clinical protocols and guidelines

    • Additional Information

  • Active Physician Assistant license required in New York
  • Board certification in Family Medicine required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Prior experience in rural health settings strongly preferred
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently in a dynamic environment
