Fire Protection Specialist
Carry out the 2nd shift fire protection operations. Contribute to the effective application of Fire & Life Safety, Property Protection, and Environmental Conservation.
Role and Responsibilities
- Assist in compliance reviews, general risk assessments and other safety assessments to support Fire Protection initiatives.
- Maintain relevant Fire Protection logs and documentation.
- Provide assistance and advice on fire protection related issues to facility management.
- Assist the Fire Protection Coordinator to ensure the company should meet all its legislative compliance obligations with International Fire Code, NFPA, OSHA, & ADA.
- Have knowledge and enforce compliance of Regulatory requirements (i.e., fire code, NFPA, etc.), including company policies and procedures.
- Observe Fire Protection NFPA & Fire Code regulations, wears all required PPE, promote safe working practices, correct hazards immediately or report the issue to the employee or supervisor who is responsible.
- Walk the manufacturing floor on a regular basis to establish Fire Protection presence and provide support.
- Conduct, coordinate and track various training to support company programs.
- Follow all fire and life safety and / or regulation changes that impact the organization.
- Act as a first responder to assist in emergency response.
- All other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
Education : Associate degree in safety related field preferred but not required. Experience : 2 years of General risk assessments and other safety assessments. Knowledge : Proficient PC skills, including Microsoft Office applications. Company policies and procedures Skills : All employees for all positions must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 35 lbs. Physical requirement : Noted below
