The HVAC Installation Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems across ITEX’s portfolio. This role supports the Director of HVAC in executing day-to-day HVAC operations and ensuring systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all applicable codes and standards.
- Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems and associated components, including air handlers, furnaces, compressors, condensers, thermostats, and ductwork.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to maximize system efficiency and prevent breakdowns.
- Respond to service calls promptly and troubleshoot issues related to heating, cooling, ventilation, and air quality.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each task.
- Support energy efficiency and sustainability efforts by recommending system upgrades or operational improvements.
- Assist with HVAC system start-ups, shut-downs, and seasonal adjustments.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including safety protocols and environmental standards.
- Collaborate with property management teams, vendors, and subcontractors as needed.
- Report equipment deficiencies and major repair needs to the Director of HVAC.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and inventory in good working order.
- Perform brazing and welding tasks as required during the installation or repair of HVAC components.

Requirements :
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience as an HVAC Technician or in a similar roleStrong knowledge of HVAC systems, mechanical troubleshooting, and HVAC codesEPA Universal Refrigerant Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manualsSkilled in using diagnostic tools, gauges, and hand / power toolsEffective communication and customer service skillsValid driver’s licensePhysical Requirements :
Ability to lift up to 50 lbsFrequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, crawling, and climbingAbility to work in confined spaces, rooftops, attics, and mechanical roomsMust be comfortable working in various environmental conditions (heat, cold, humidity)Preferred Qualifications :
Trade school or vocational training in HVAC or mechanical systems.Experience in multifamily or commercial property HVAC service.Familiarity with building automation systems (BAS) or energy management systems (EMS).
