\n\nJob Description\n

The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, and the alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response and through advocacy in the care of individuals and families. The RN is responsible and accountable for compliance with all standards of practice and professional development in accordance with the New York State Nurse Practice Act and United Health Services policies.

\n\nResponsibilities\n \n

  • Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care, managing a group of patients.

    • \n

  • Educate patients and families in health promotion and disease management.

    • \n

  • Utilize knowledge of pharmacology and safely administer medications.

    • \n

  • Share responsibility for productivity and resource utilization.

    • \n

  • Comply with nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements.

    • \n

  • Actively participate in professional development and continuing education.

    • \n

  • Integrate nursing research into practice.

    • \n

  • Provide a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.

    • \n

  • Perform duties related to the Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator role when assigned.

    • \n \n\nRequired Experience / Certifications / Licensure\n \n

  • 3 years of current experience working in an Emergency Department.

    • \n

  • Current New York State Registered Nurse License.

    • \n

  • BLS and ACLS Certification.

    • \n

  • Previous travel experience with knowledge in trauma, STEMI, stroke, sepsis, and pediatrics preferred.
