DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will assist in coordinating and recommending work assignments, as well as vocational or technical training programs for inmates. Key duties include conducting program orientation sessions for new inmates and performing intake interviews to gather employment histories and interests. You will review case information and psychological, medical, educational, and other institutional personnel reports to determine the appropriateness of job placement plans and make recommendations for the proposal of new jobs, job descriptions, and corresponding pay scales. Additionally, you will provide employment counseling to support inmates in adjusting to work environments, answer their questions, and guide them in selecting vocational training and skill-building programs. You will also assist inmates in obtaining the necessary documentation to support job placement and a smooth transition back into the community.

Work Schedule and Additional Information :

• Full-time employment, 37.5-hour work week
• Work hours are 8 : 00 AM to 4 : 00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
• Telework : You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary : Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $45,907.00 (before taxes).
