Serve as a resource and mentor for the intake team, offering guidance on complex referrals, workflow questions, and best practices.
Assist with monitoring team workload, productivity, and quality standards; provide feedback and escalate concerns as needed.
Coordinate with internal departments (Admissions, Transportation, Utilization Review, etc.) to ensure smooth transitions from referral to admission.
Support the Intake Supervisor in training new staff and implementing updated procedures or systems.
Maintain awareness of insurance eligibility, referral requirements, and program criteria to ensure proper client placement.
Participate in daily or weekly huddles to review team goals, barriers, and process improvements.
Serve as backup for intake coordinators when needed, including answering calls, processing referrals, and documenting in EHR or tracking systems.
Contribute to ongoing improvement of intake processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and client experience.
Track and communicate updates on capacity, referral trends, and program needs to leadership.
Maintain daily census log.
Attend Staff in services and meetings
Required Skills Required :
High school diploma or GED.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in intake, admissions, or behavioral health coordination.
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to build positive relationships and lead by example within a team environment.
Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and Microsoft Office applications.
Demonstrated problem-solving skills and sound judgment in client and operational situations.
Preferred :
Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in human services, psychology, social work, or a related field.
Previous experience in a lead, senior coordinator, or training / mentorship role.
Working knowledge of insurance verification, referral workflows, and behavioral health program criteria.
Experience with data tracking tools or dashboards (Excel proficiency preferred).
Familiarity with Meridian Behavioral Health programs and admissions processes.
