What to Expect (Job Responsibilities) :
Review surgical operative notes and assign appropriate CPT and diagnosis codesMaintain knowledge of and comply with insurance, CPT coding, and diagnosis guidelinesRun daily reconciliation reports to ensure all charges are captured accuratelyCommunicate with providers regarding coding and documentation updatesEnter surgical charges into the EMR system (EPIC) and maintain documentation accuracyWhat is Required (Qualifications) :
High School Diploma or GEDOne of the following certifications : AAPC (CPC), PMIC (CMC), AHIMA (CCS-P)Advanced certification through AAPC in a specialty requiredMinimum of 2 years of professional coding experienceKnowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and coding regulations (CPT and ICD-9 / ICD-10)How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications) :
