Machine Shop Quality Inspector

Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES : \n

Perform first piece and in-process inspection on all parts being manufactured

\n

Maintain daily / weekly inspection schedules on all machines

\n

Interact with machinist on the floor to review inspection requirements for each job before approving production.

\n

Perform incoming inspection on vendor supplied parts and processes

\n

Perform final inspection on all outgoing parts to customers

\n

Supply required gages / measuring equipment to shop floor personnel

\n

Perform internal calibration of measuring equipment per AS9100 requirements

\n

Maintain and monitor measuring equipment.

\n

Report to management on a regular basis with any discrepancies

\n

QUALIFICATIONS : \n

Strong math skills

\n

Understanding machine shop processes including CNC milling, turning, grinding and EDM

\n

Strong teamwork skills

\n

Working knowledge of CMM usage and programming

\n

Working knowledge of measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, thread gages, comparators, hardness tester, profilometers, dial bore gages, etc

\n

Strong knowledge of GD&T
