Overview

Segra is searching for a dynamic and experienced Network Market Engineer to work within our Charleston, WV market. Based on the manager's evaluation of candidate experience and competency, we are open to hiring for this role at various levels.

Responsibilities

  • The Network Market Engineer is responsible for estimating, planning, designing and engineering network equipment to provide a quality solution for customer requests for their market. This includes creating documentation (Project Manuscript), which contains Bill of Materials, and all documentation required for Field Operations to install and turn up services for customer request.
  • Designing TDM and Ethernet connectivity across the network for data and voice services, to include Internet, Ethernet 2.0, Network, Carrier End User, and FTTC in Netcracker.
  • Assisting in resource inventory clean-up. Understanding Network and Circuit path standards used at the company.
  • Utilizing a WFM workflow database to track circuit / service orders and update the order status. Works closely with and collaborates with all internal departments.
  • Serving as one of the operational leaders in the market supporting the Field Operations team, Sales, and Sales Engineering for pre and post sales opportunities. Acts as a Tier II support for the Field Operations team in the market.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering / Technical / Computer Science or equivalent technical experience is preferred.
  • 5+ years Engineering / Planning / Operations Telecommunications Experience (will specialize in one of the following disciplines but needs to have an understanding of all : Switch, Data, or OSP / Transport / DWDM / SONET).
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience defining, evaluating, solving and presenting alternatives to complex engineering problems and in applying engineering and economic principles while conducting studies and surveys to analyze a technical system or design into component parts.
